Website Provider
Scroll down to the footer of our website and click onto the small "fm" logo, bottom right. This takes you to the Fairly Marvelous website. This is our website provider and we are on the "Growth" package which is an all-inclusive package providing the website design, hosting, email, as many pages as we want, and 1 hour per month of updates.
They are very quick to rectify faults on the website or issues, even if it's our fault, to keep the site working. Updates and new additions to the site can take a lot longer. I'm not sure how much they charge for updates or new stuff over one hour per month but the going rate is around £40 to £50 / hour. So it makes sense to be able to do updates ourselves, both in time and cost.
Updating and Editing
The process is to:
Log in to the site
Go to the dashboard menu
Select the area you want to change or add
Use Beaver Builder to make the changes or additions
The website is designed and run on the WordPress platform. This is one of the biggest website design systems in the world.
Beaver Builder is one of many software programmes that enable the average computer user to create and edit a WordPress website without knowing very much of the clever stuff like HTML language and programming, making it a bit like using simple word processing software like MS Word.
Before you start....
You're possibly wondering if you're able to screw up the entire website by pressing the wrong button somewhere. This is very unlikely if you stick to editing the site through Beaver Builder and don't get involved with the site design and HTML programming. I'm told by Jonathan, the FM owner, that he has a complete and separate back-up to the site at all times so can reverse anything we do from our end. We just need to contact him and ask.
Beaver Builder does warn you that changes may be lost if you leave a page you're working on without "Saving". Saving saves changes to Beaver Builder. Once you're done with making changes you click "Done" in the top right corner. This then gives the option to "Discard", "Save as a draft" or "Publish". When you click "Publish" it then sends all the changes you've made to the live website. But you can always log in and change it back again!
Editing & Updating
The most common updates are probably updating Pricelists, adding or removing Special offers, adding special notices and making small edits to existing pages. These are probably a good place to start to find your way around the website editor.
Straight and formatted editing
Most of the website "Pages" are edited much like creating and editing a MS Word document. i.e. go to the page, edit text, add or delete photos etc, "Save", and then "Publish" to the online website.
Parts of the website are preformatted a bit like a form, i.e. the whole layout is there, you just change add or update details on the form for that section and click "Publish or Update" and the whole page or section updates with the new values or information. This also enables you to add new information with minimal input. E.G. To add a special offer you just go into "Special Offers", click "Add a new post" and a form comes up asking you to insert a Title, Heading, Description, Photo, Old price and new price. Then click "Publish". This then formats the information and adds it to the Special Offers section on the website.

In some cases, like the Special Offers, the introduction page covering all offers is edited under "Pages" and the actual offers are added of updated under "Special Offers". The actual format and layout of the Special Offers page is done by FM, the website provider and we have no access to that.
Dashboard
This is the page that opens when you log into the website editor and gives access to all areas of the website. See brief description below. The only way to find your way round the website. Many of the items have a drop-down menu when you hover over them. You can use these or just click the item and generally all the options will be found on that page.
Editing and Updating Individual items
These are notes and guidance on particular tasks in short and checklist form. It may be helpful to be talked through each item first time and then just use the notes as a reminder.

Go to Dashboard
Click Pages: Hover over the name of the page you want. Click Beaver Builder
On left hand section of the editor click in the area / box you want to edit
The text will appear on the right side of the editor
Edit on the right side (the left side shows how it will look)
Save (Click on left to go back to editor on right)
When done click Done (top right)
Publish: Changes go live to website. Or you could Save it as a draft, or Discard it
Logout
Check the amended online website (you may need to refresh the page)
Price Lists
The pricelist page is pre-formatted like a form so you just need to go into it and add, remove or amend the details the form asks for and either Update it for an amendment or Publish it for a new pricelist.
Updating an existing pricelist
Download the new pricelist to your offline pricelist folder (You'll need to find this later)
Login and Go to Dashboard
Pricelists, Links & Docs
Hover over pricelist you want to update.
Click "Edit"
Update the Heading (Top box under Edit post) e.g. New title, date, version number.
Scroll down to "Price list" box and hover over it
Click the "X" button (far right) This deletes the old file
Click "Add file"
The new pricelist file will unlikely already be in the Media library so click the "Upload files" tab
Click "Select Files"
You now need to find the new pricelist in your offline list and select it
In the "Caption" and "Description" boxes on the right enter a brief description of the new pricelist, e.g. Hunter Parkray prices Sept 2025. This may lead someone to our website on a search)
Now click "Select" (bottom right)
Do a last check of the page to confirm you've updated the heading etc
Click "Update"
Logout
Check the amended online website (you may need to refresh the page)
Adding a new Pricelist

From dropdown menu select "Add new post"
Enter a Title, e.g. Hunter Aspect pricelist Sept 2025
Document Type box: Tick Pricelist
From the dropdown list select the Supplier (You should already have added them on the "Suppliers" list
Price list: Click "Add file"
The new pricelist file will unlikely already be in the Media library so click the "Upload files" tab
Click "Select Files"
You now need to find the new pricelist in your offline list and select it
In the "Caption" and "Description" boxes on the right enter a brief description of the new pricelist, e.g. Hunter Parkray prices Sept 2025. This may lead someone to our website on a search)
Now click "Select" (bottom right)
Do a last check of the page to confirm you've updated the heading etc
Click "Update"
Logout
Check the amended online website (you may need to refresh the page)
Special Offers
The "Special Offers page" is pre-formatted like a form so you just need to go into it and add, remove or amend the details the form asks for and either Update it for an amendment or Publish it for a new Offer.
There is also a "Pages" page which can be amended under "Pages". This is where you can add say a note changing the "Summer" offers to "Winter" This page contains all the Offers so you're basically changing the container for the Offers on the Offers "Page".
Amending an existing Offer (As required)
Login and Go to Dashboard
Click Special Offers
From the list, hover over the offer you want to amend and click "Edit" You could just click "Bin" to delete the whole offer
Amend the Title (at the top under Edit post)
Amend the Heading (In the Headline box)
Amend the "Status" (in the box to the right)
Amend the Image (In the image box) Click on the image and amend as required
Amend the text (In the More detail box)
Amend the prices (In the Prices boxes)
Scroll back up the page now and click "Update"
Logout
Check the amended online website (you may need to refresh the page)
Adding a new Offer
Login and Go to Dashboard
Click Special Offers
Add a new post
Add a Title (at the top under Edit post)
Add a Heading (In the Headline box)
Tick the "Status" (in the box to the right) Tick Active
Add an Image Click Add image. The image may already be in the Media library or you may have to Upload one: Upload Files tab.
Add text (In the More detail box)
Add the prices (In the Prices boxes)
Scroll back up the page now and click "Publish"
Logout
Check the amended online website (you may need to refresh the page)
